Dato' Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak
Prime Minister of Malaysia

"On the untainted faces of these children, I see the light
In their guiltless hearts there lies a dream
If restlessness manacles all
If greed overwhelms us
Then where do they place their hopes
On our shoulders lies a mountain of responsibilities
Meeting the vow fulfilling the pledge
Come together,
Friends and family, associates and adversaries
Set aside the divergence, extends more honesty
Let's stride with me
Together we move, together we take the same course
1 Voice, 1 Dream, 1 Hope, 1Malaysia."

100% Freedom Will F*** You Up

Aren't we fortunate that we have very strict gun-law and the gov't is listening to the people to reduce crime which is one of the 7 national key result area NKRA under 1 Malaysia Transformation Programme. Of course we are still not happy with the result but it is still work in progress and we are seeing some improvement already.

This time, 20 children – aged six and seven – and six adults were shot in an elementary school in Connecticut by a lone gunman.

I don’t recall any incident whereby children of policemen or legal gun owners took their parents’ guns and went on a shooting spree in Malaysia.

If ordinary citizens feel safe, secure and protected, there is no need for them to keep and bear arms. And that’s how it has been for us – so buying a gun never figured on anyone’s shopping list, unless you’re rich and a potential kidnap victim.

Think Before Responding, BN Cyber Troopers Told

Barisan Nasional cyber troopers here have been urged to be more transparent and responsible when countering allegations and issues raised by the public and opposition.

State Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) chairman Abdullah Saidol said they should be opened to constructive criticisms and be receptive of all public predicaments and issues before countering with the government’s side of the story.

“BN cyber troopers must tell it as it is. Be truthful in presenting your facts. We do not want to create a perception that the government does not have any weaknesses … that BN is perfect,” Abdullah, who is Semop assemblyman, told reporters.

“We must be bold to accept criticisms in whatever situations. Accept constructive inputs from all quarters, including the opposition.”

He pointed out that if the inputs and ideas were workable then there was nothing wrong in adopting it. Abdullah said the key point to keep in mind is not to let criticisms disunite the people.

“What’s the point of having world-class highways or the tallest building in the world if the people were not united? Racial and religious solidarity must remain our top priority.”

Abdullah, who is also Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, said if the opposition accused the government of not doing its job or had neglected the people, BN cyber-troopers should counter by publishing and explaining all that the government had done for the people.

Live From DUN Sarawak : Awang Tengah on Rural Water Supply

Sarawak Kolok Mee bringing you the latest spice of what's happening in Sarawak DUN Sitting today. These few days will be concluding sessions of various ministers' answers for questions which ADUNs presented last week. Sarawak Kolok Mee will published first hand replies from the ministers' before the newspaper does tomorrow.

YB Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hassan

Minister of Resource Planning and Environment (II)
Minister of Public Utilities
Minister of Industrial Development

As quoted from Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah, the implementation of water supply projects to being treated and clean water supply to the rural population under the various Water Supply Development Programmes has been progressing. Patience is much needed to cover the whole vast are of Sarawak for water supply.

More and more of the rural population are provided with water supply. The effort of the Government to bring water supply to the remaining rural population is becoming more and more of a mammoth task and is highly challenging. This is due to the vast land area of Sarawak(Do you have any idea how big is Sarawak?? Google it).

Imagine the size of terrain, the geography, the connectivity and the remoteness of the settlements which are also vastly scattered and thinly populated. This will be too costly to provide treated water supply to the isolated settlements in the interior.

Hence, other forms of providing safe clean water supply to promote hygiene and improve public health are being implemented to alleviate hardship to the people until viable time to replace them with treated water supply.

Sarawak is allocated about RM1.73 billion to implement Projek Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (BALB) under the NKRA programme.

Out of 477 water supply projects, 393 projects had been completed. 47,628 households will be benefited while the remaining 84 projects will benefit a further 41,372 households; expected to complete by August 2013.

Under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), the water supply works for Phase 1 Stage 1 at Samalaju area had been successfully completed. This project supplies treated water to Samalaju Industrial Park and nearby kampungs.

New 80 million liters per day (MLD) water treatment plant and associated facilities is expected to be completed by April 2013 to meet increasing demands. The development of Sungai Similajau raw water source and another 80 MLD water treatment plant is in the pipeline to ensure adequate future supply.

The expansion of existing treatment capacity of Mukah water supply is much needed and to upgrade the systems to cater for the tremendous increase in water demand in that area.
